On behalf of the Bell Central students and staff I want to personally thank everyone involved in the Mirror Mirror project. As an educator for 21 years (10 as an administrator) I have had the opportunity to observe/be a part of hundreds of programs and I can say, without reservations, that the Mirror Mirror program is one of the best programs we have ever been involved in. Not only is this program very needed and relevant for our students it was presented in a way that captured our students interest and engaged them. I would strongly recommend this program for any middle school or high school. It is a great way to promote self esteem!

Mirror Mirror has had such an impact on our students. We have had the program in our schools for two years now and I plan to keep having it. The first girl that we chose for the makeover was always so sad, she felt very bad about herself, had experimented with drugs and other self destructive behavior. She didn't like to come to school. She looked like she had the world on her shoulders. The day of the makeover she glowed. She looked so beautiful, she was always beautiful the difference was she felt beautiful. So many students complimented her and hugged her telling her how great she looked. She couldn't believe it. When she walked into the cafeteria after her makeover the whole 8th grade stood up and clapped for her. She cried. Every day after that until school was out she came by my office talking about how that made her feel and thanking me for choosing her.

We really enjoyed having your program at our school. The whole event was exciting for the kids, not just the ones that were chosen for the makeover. From the time we put out the sign up sheet to the day of the program all of the kids were looking forward to the program. Your program/makeover has made a tremendous difference in the way the kids see themselves. It has been a very positive influence all around. You and your team are very professional.

Mirror-Mirror is one of the best programs we have ever hosted in our building. My biggest regret is that I did not let all of our students attend the program. The message about how we treat others and taking responsibility for our own lives and actions is very timely in the day we live. If students do not learn how to stand up for themselves and come to the defense of those that are being singled out due to some minor deficiency as defined by the world standard, I am afraid that the problems we see in our schools today will only get worse. We need student leaders that are not afraid to stand for what is right and communicate their message with love and understanding to all of their peers.
